Stories

From Bob Klein:

Although also having seen total eclipses in Quebec, Africa and Japan, I would have to say this was my favorite. Snow covered ground (where shadow bands were clearly visible), sun was low in a crystal blue sky during totality (beautiful)

To get to Montana from Boston as a cash-strapped graduate student, I traveled in a rebuilt Volkswagen bus with five other students nonstop - cooking and eating lentils and rice in the van. I gave a video camera to a fellow student to record the eclipse. Being his first eclipse, he dropped the camera and just stared during the event. Upon returning I had a video of a camera on it side, and him saying "oh wow, oh wow!"
